Yard Response Unit Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Yard Response Unit (“Yard Response Unit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) may collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit our website, contact us, purchase a service, or receive pet waste removal services.

1. Information You Provide to Us

Depending on how you interact with us, we may receive information such as your name, email address, telephone number, service address, billing-related information made available to us by our payment provider, selected service plan, pet name or other pet information, gate or access instructions, notes you submit at checkout, and communications you send to us.

Please do not provide sensitive information that is not reasonably necessary for us to perform or support your service.

2. Service & Property Information

We may maintain service records such as scheduled or completed visits, service frequency, access notes, account status, customer support history, and limited photographs of outdoor service areas when reasonably needed to document completion, inaccessible gates, safety hazards, property conditions, or a customer-service issue.

Our personnel are not authorized by these policies to enter the interior of your residence for data collection or service documentation.

3. Website & Technical Information

When you use our website, technical information may be processed automatically by our hosting, network, security, or third-party website providers. This can include IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, pages requested, referring information, and similar server or diagnostic data.

Our Service Area page uses third-party map technology and map tiles. When that page loads, your browser may connect directly to those third-party services, which may receive technical information such as your IP address and browser request data under their own policies.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to provide and schedule service; identify the property to be serviced; follow gate and access instructions; communicate about upcoming, completed, delayed, or missed visits; manage subscriptions and accounts; process and reconcile payments; respond to questions; maintain business and tax records; prevent fraud or misuse; document service issues; protect customers, personnel, property, and our legal rights; improve operations; and comply with applicable law.

5. Payments & Stripe

Our online checkout and recurring subscription payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. When you use Stripe Checkout, payment-card information is submitted to and processed by Stripe rather than being entered directly into our website.

Stripe may provide Yard Response Unit with transaction and customer information needed to manage your purchase or subscription, such as payment status, amount, customer contact details, subscription information, and other checkout information you choose to submit. Stripe processes information under its own privacy terms and legal obligations.

Yard Response Unit does not intentionally store your full payment-card number or card security code on this website.

6. When We May Share Information

We do not sell customer personal information for money. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to providers that help us operate the business, such as payment processing, website hosting, communications, bookkeeping, insurance, professional advisers, or contractors involved in providing service. We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, government request, insurance claim, dispute, fraud investigation, safety concern, or to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

Service providers may process information according to their own terms, privacy notices, and legal obligations.

7. Business Transfers

If Yard Response Unit is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, transfer of service accounts, or similar business transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for active service, customer support, transaction and tax records, safety and access documentation, fraud prevention, insurance, dispute resolution, enforcement of agreements, and other legitimate business or legal purposes. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable requirements.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and operational measures appropriate to a small service business to help protect information in our control. However, no website, network, email system, payment system, or method of electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Customers should avoid sending full card numbers, passwords, Social Security numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information by email or text.

10. Your Choices & Requests

You may contact us to request correction of inaccurate customer or service information, update gate or access instructions, ask what customer information we maintain about you, or request deletion of information that we are not legally or operationally required to retain. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

We may retain information despite a deletion request when reasonably necessary or legally permitted for payment records, taxes, fraud prevention, disputes, insurance, security, legal compliance, or establishment or defense of legal claims.

11. Communications

By providing contact information in connection with your service, you understand that we may use it for service-related communications such as scheduling, access issues, billing or account notices, weather delays, service completion, and customer support. You may ask us to change your preferred method of nonessential communication, subject to messages needed to administer your active service or account.

12. Children’s Privacy

Our services and website are intended for adults arranging property services and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children through this website.

13. Third-Party Websites & Services

Our website may link to third-party websites or services, including Stripe and mapping services. Their privacy practices are controlled by their own policies, and Yard Response Unit is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party sites.

14. Florida Privacy & Data Security

Yard Response Unit operates in Florida and will handle privacy and data-security obligations according to laws applicable to the business and the information involved. Some privacy statutes apply only to businesses that meet specific statutory thresholds or engage in specified data practices; nothing in this policy is intended to represent that every privacy-law regime applies to Yard Response Unit.

Nothing in this policy limits any privacy, security, or consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our website, service providers, business practices, or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date when appropriate. Material changes will be communicated when required by applicable law.
